Five
years old boys wear a kimono and
hakama
(loose, pleated trousers).
Their kimonos are different from men's kimonos. One of which is
the use of a date-eri (special collar) for the boy's kimono. Unlike
formal men's kimonos, children's kimonos have a jimoyo
(fabric pattern).
The
pattern of the
hakama
is sendaihira, which has
a vertical
stripe. The material and design of the obi
are the same
as those of the
hakama.
In our collection, the back of the
haori
(the jacket) has a crane, a symbol of good luck
embroidered with gold thread.
Boys'
zori,
(traditional sandals)
are made of straw. For accessories, they have a charm, a sort of
sword, and a white fan.
Shichi-Go-San
celebration for five years old is mainly for boys.
