| What is Jiyuka? Jiyuka is literally translated as "free flowers" and refers to the free style floral arrangement. It is the inclusive name for all ikebana pieces that are created without conforming to any set pattern or form. Jiyuka permits us to go beyond established patterns and to exercise originality.

| As in all other art forms, jiyuka
should reveal originality, as well as produce a strong aesthetic impact. Jiyuka
emphasizes creativity and at the same time artistic organization.

| There are two major categories in jiyuka. They are naturalistic arrangements and design oriented arrangements. | ||
In naturalistic arrangements, the natural
forms of plant materials are utilized to create an arrangement which resonates the
arrangers ideas or emotions. |
